“Three Friends” – acrylic on panel 8″ x 8″

This new series of winter paintings returns to a place many of us still carry quietly within us: childhood, when winter was not something to endure, but something toenter.

Mia captures a small, brave figure bundled against the cold, standing as the snow swirls around her. You can almost feel the sting of the wind on her cheeks and the weight of winter clothing that made every step an effort. Its that moment just before the cold seeps in when excitement still outweighs discomfort and the world feels vast, white, and full of possibility.

In Two Friends, companionship takes on a simpler form. One friend is human, the other made of packed snow and imagination. Its a quiet reminder of how easily friendship once came to us, how we could create a companion out of nothing more than snowfall, time, and belief.

Three Friends expands that small winter universe. Two children and a snowman stand together, equal partners in play. There was a time when everyone felt like your friend when the world was safe, shared, and full of small alliances formed in mittens and scarves.

Do you remember watching the sky, hoping for snow? Praying it wouldnt be too cold, so the snow would pack just right? Those were the days when winter meant possibility, when a snowman felt almost alive, and when joy was measured in red cheeks, wet mittens, and how long you could stay outside before being called in.

These paintings are not just scenes of winter they are invitations. Invitations to remember, to share stories, to point and say, That was me, or I remember that day. They are meant to spark conversation, stir memory, and perhaps find a home with someone who still believes that winter, at its best, is where friendships begin.
