Barn vent (cupola)

These authentic, rustic barn vents are charming and unique. They can be used as decor both inside and out. You can suspend from the ceiling, or hang on a wall. String lights around the inside for a magical effect! What a conversation piece!

Don’t you just love it when you buy a new piece for your patio and then someone says, “Wow that’s nice! I have one too! I got minge on sale – clearance – at the big box store!” No, I didn’t think you would like that. These pieces are unique, and we currently have only eight of them.

A barn cupola is a small tower ordome-like feature projectingfrom the top of a barn roof. Ranging from large and ornate to small and simple, cupolas typically have three parts: the base, the vents and the cap. The size of the base is determined by the slope or pitch of the barn roof. In the middle, the vents can be windows or slats designed to let light, air or gaspass through. Screens can be added to keep out insects and animals. The caps of cupolasare usually designed to have asquare, octagonal, bell-like or other distinctive geometric shape. They are also often topped with a finial or weathervane.
