Morning Ablutions by Leith Channen

One of the joys of backcountry canoe camping is an early morning paddle over the still-calm waters before the winds are stirring. As the rising sun kisses the lake’s surface, a loon begins its morning ablutions with a thorough shower of the cool water splashed up by its mighty wings. A treasure of the Ontario wilderness!
